The Adidas Ultraboost has seen many versions come and go along the way but it’s never really strayed too far from what was first put out in January 2015 and some of the biggest performance footwear strides forward have been made in that period. So, what did they do to upgrade the shoe?
It’s safe to say the UltraBoost first changed the world of running shoes. The combination of bouncy Boost foam and a trendy upper one prompted a flood of other brands to pick up the recipe to create street-smart shoes which also had the technical chops running for long distance.

Adidas UltraBoost 2020 Sole Unit
Under the entire foot the Ultra Boost uses an enhanced Boost foam material. Embedded a floating torsion spring into the Boost foam for an improved transition and a visible drive forwards. When I increased the pace a bit, the spring was really clear. The snap it has given has been good.
The outsole is the standard Continental Stretchweb, seen on the UltraBoost by Adidas. This outsole provides a larger area of contact which translates into superior grip.
Adidas UltraBoost 2020 Upper Unit
The top is a one-piece woven upper sock called “Primeknit 360” that fully encompasses the foot, and is tight enough to add some structure and support throughout the foot.
Adidas uses a 3D frame that locks the heel in well and allows a very comfortable journey.
The upper one then uses a Tailored Fiber Placement (TFP) which helps to lock in the midfoot and provides the necessary support for your step. The upper moves from the midfoot up to the heel cup.
During the last few years, Adidas UltraBOOST shoes ruled the roads (when running), the streets (when hanging out) and the catwalks (when posing). Finally, the first big change to the brand that ate the world: The 2019 UltraBOOST makes it more springy and relaxed.
Conclusion
The Adidas Ultraboost has received much acclaim for its attractive feel, its robust components and mid-sole responsiveness. Many athletes have managed to remain confident throughout their running activities. A lot acknowledged that the price was high but they also commented that because of its overall quality it was worth the investment. This road shoe earned strong recommendation from neutral runners.
